Today begins the scheduled five-game stint within 3 days in the annual Central Texas First Pitch Classic for the Carroll Tigers. The Tigers are set to kick off the season against the Lubbock Westerners, 4 pm at Cedar Ridge HS. The forthcoming weekend follows a month's worth of preparation and scrimmages against multiple teams in the SOTX region. With practice underneath their belts, we preview our expected starting roster for the weekend (NOT OFFICIAL).

C: Dae Palomo (OR, Seth Martinez)
1B: Tyler Vasquez (OR, Matt Rodriguez, Joshua Gonzales)
2B: Isaac Perez
3B: Niko Perez
SS: Kalob Cantu (OR, Dae Palomo)
LF: Julian Gonzales
CF: Derek Chavez
RF: Dominick Salomon (OR, Cristan Pena)
P: Caleb Jimenez (OR, Matt Rodriguez), Joshua Gonzales, Tyler Vasquez

Expect Dae Palomo to get reps throughout the season at SS to allow Seth Martinez to grow and develop with the Varsity squad at Catcher to build his confidence and essentially pass the torch down following the conclusion of this season

Expect Matt Rodriguez to share the first base position this season with Joshua Gonzales whenever TP (Tyler Prince Vasquez) isn't in or is pitching. When Josh pitches, Matt will play 1B, and when Matt pitches, Josh will play 1B.

As a reminder, these are all predictions coming from an outsider and not an official source, only the best guesses we have on the teams starting 9 players for the tournament.

Tiger Baseball starts February 22nd.
