Rayados vs Puebla, A new Season

First Half:

The match kicks off at the “Gigante de Acero” (steel giant), and both Puebla and Monterrey start with a slow pace, studying each other in this first game of the season. However, Monterrey has dominated possession and has been increasing the tempo, especially with the magic of Jordi Cortizo combining with the verticality of Erick Aguirre.

While Puebla becomes more direct and exploits spaces, Tano Ortiz's team also counterattacks, bringing excitement to the game. A goal from Puebla is disallowed for offside, and there are two shots very close to the goal defended by the Mexican Jesús Iván Rodríguez.

Second half:

The second half kicks off at the BBVA Stadium, and Monterrey goes for the win with a header against the post from Germán Berterame, showcasing the hunger of the team. In the 52nd minute, the first goal of the season falls for the Rayados – a brilliant header from a cross by Erick Aguirre that hits the crossbar before going in, unleashing the euphoria of the Regiomontan fanbase.

This second half has seen intensity from both sides, with numerous missed opportunities. However, Monterrey, now in the lead, plays more calmly and confidently. In the final minutes, the Puebla team presses for an equalizer, resulting in several cards as they attempt to defend against Monterrey's counterattacks.

Just as Puebla gets closer, the Monterrey team executes a perfect counterattack from their own area to deliver the final blow to the match. Germán Berterame scores, securing the victory and giving Rayados the perfect start to the season.

We would like to thank Rayados for their hospitality and hope to see their season rise up to their fans expectations.
