Sam Houston Bearkats' Opening-Round Game Rescheduled Due to Weather

May 23, 2024, RUSTON, La. — The Sam Houston Bearkats' opening-round game of the CUSA Tournament has been rescheduled to Thursday morning due to inclement weather that swept through the Ruston area Wednesday evening.

Initially set to face No. 5 Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Bearkats had their game postponed as lightning and poor weather conditions interrupted play between No. 1 Louisiana Tech and No. 8 Middle Tennessee in the ninth inning. At the time of the delay, the top-seeded Bulldogs were leading 8-2.

The interrupted game between the Bulldogs and the Blue Raiders will resume on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Bearkats and Flames matchup at 11:05 a.m., which will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Despite the revised schedule, the Bearkats will not play a second game on Thursday. The day's play will wrap up after the fourth official game, featuring No. 2 DBU against No. 6 FIU. Both teams secured victories in their respective brackets on Wednesday.
